LAUNCH OF GHANA PROFESSIONAL BOXING LEAGUE: 2021
1.The boxing league is bouncing back after about 16 years break.
2.The new professional boxing league is a collaborative efforts of Ghana Boxing Authority(GBA) and IMAX MEDIA GROUP.
3.The biweekly boxing league will be telecast live on TV twice in a month.
4.GBA and IMAX MEDIA GROUP are expected to sign a 5year developmental deal today at the grand launch
5.The sponsorship package offered by IMAX MEDIA GROUP is 1.7 million US dollars for 5 years period with a breakdown of 450,000 US dollars annually.
6.The annual budget of 450,000 US dollars goes into boxers purse,allowance for ring officials,production cost,live coverage,publicity and all.....
7.The league system is expected to keep professional boxers active,shape their talents and project them to the rest of the world via Television
8.The league will bring about healthy competition among boxers and gyms as well as the needed rivalry among communities such as Bukom,Chorkor,James Town,Accra New Town,Teshie,La and other boxing gyms in Sunyani,Keta,Kumasi and Cape coast.
9.Boxers on the boxing league radar are expected to benefit from cash(purse) and products to keep them motivated and healthy through out the period.
10.Only stakeholders with licence will be allowed to participate in the league.
