Winbase Promotion held a press conference on Thursday November 25 to introduce boxers of their fight night scheduled for December 4 at the Trust Sports Emporium, Gamashie Hall.
Promoter and manager, Edwin Nii Odartey Evans who addressed the media and boxing fanatics acknowledged the presence of the Ghana Boxing Authorities, the Ghana Supporters Union, the Media, and boxers.
He commended the GBA for coming up with well-designed National title belts which three of them will be up for grabs on their bill.
Issac Aryeetey (Iron Boy) who is on the co-main event for the night thanked all elders and his manager who was present,
“I have been training for some time now, though competitors are uncommon and I find it tough to get an opponent. God being so good, I heard one is handy for me this time around so I've decided to make that test useful for myself and fans. He can't outwit me in the ring even in my worse state, he will not traverse all the scheduled 12 rounds because I’m worthy for this” he said.
Joseph Akai Nettey who challenges for the National Light Flyweight championship fight also rebutted: I want to thank everyone here and winbase Promotions management, I started boxing before him so the ring will determine, I know what I can do so it’s not about bragging here and there let’s wait and see what happens on that day whether the fight will travel all rounds or there will be a halt.
John Quaye will challenge Yusif Seidu, the WABU Champion for the Ghana National Title. He promisesd to crush his opponent as he is ripe to surprisingly prove his opponent wrong.
“People know what I can do so no need to say much here because I’m waiting on the big day” he expressed.
Tough fighter, Yusif Seidu, replied “I’m ready to receive it all on that fight night so he should be well prepared and come for the delivery. I heard he is the Junior Game Boy, well, l have seen what Game Boy does in the ring and can portray all, but when I release my style he will flee from the ring trust me”.
Winbase signee Mohammed Nii Ayikwei Aryeetey (Golden Star) comes face to face for the first time against experienced Isaac Korley Quaye for the new Ghana National Flyweight championship as the main event of the night,
Pretty Boy Isaac Quaye thanked all promoters and all officials for calling on him to get back to his roots to show what he knows best.
Mohammed Aryeetey said “I’m thanking all elders, I want him to know we are newly made rising stars and ready to move from National to International, my opponent has beaten a lot in the past, well that is in the past so he should be prepared when coming into the ring with the rising Golden Star, that’s all I have to say now”.
In attendance were GBA board members Mr John Manfo, Michael Tetteh, Roger Banor, Laud Acquaye, renowned coach Akai Nettey and Theophilus Lartey.
The bill comprises an 8 rounds Welterweight contest between Charles Lesko Sosiya vrs Samuel Lartey, 8 rounds Heavyweight contest between Mohammed Ali vrs Felix Mankattah, 6 rounds Bantamweight contest between Michael Dicardi Nelson vs Rocky Otoo and 6 rounds Flyweight contest between Marvelous Dodoo vrs Simon Tackie.
There will also 6 rounds Super Welterweight contest, Christopher Buxton vrs Ebenezer Sowah, while there would be another 8 rounds Super middleweight contest between Emile Kalekuzi and Moses Lartey.
Light Heavyweight Issah Inusah will face Prosper Quaye over 8 rounds.
Enoch Tettey Tetteh and Alfred Quaye will square up over a 6 rounds Bantamweight contest.
