Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, CEO of the Coastal Development Agency (CODA) has congratulated the senior national football team, the Black Stars for qualifying to the next FIFA World Cup tickets be held in Qatar come November /December 2022.
The Black Stars beat their arch rivals, Super Eagles of Nigeria in a crunch two legged tie which ended in draws but Ghana was able to score an away goal in Abuja through Skipper on the day, Thomas Partey which was equalized by the captain of the Eagles to end the match 1-1.
Lawyer Ahmed who is also Deputy Secretary General of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) said the victory is very significant and very good that Ghana is among the best in the world when it comes to football.
"We thank God for the victory. Serious football nations plan very well from A to Z, proper infrastructure for kids to the highest level,junior football is well activiated in schools and colts management should be very professional.
Welfare of team is critical and that includes proper training of staff and players" he told Yours Truly in the exclusive chat.
The hard working government official appealed to the youth to use their energies and time profitably and efficiently. His outfit, CODA, has been putting up astro turfs at vantage communities to encourage the people to live healthy lifestyle and engage in sports and other social activities,.
Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib who is also the president of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation commended athletes and Federations who have qualified for the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The disciplines that have so far qualified for the Birmingham Games are boxing, weightlifting, hockey and beach volleyball.
