The Kayayei Games Club Association was founded by a benevolent and sociable personality with the support of many other sports and development oriented people in the community.
The inaugurated saw the exhibition of musical talent by some of the popular musicians including Selection One after an aerobics and functional fitness session led by Charles Owusu Ansah and his lieutenants.
Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams President of the Ghana Tug of War Association was also adequately represented as well as the Minister of Sports and Recreation by Madam Hannah Yusif Hassan, she commended the organisers and congratulated the winners.
Mr Mark Quarshie represented the Director General of the National Sports Authority and he addressed the benefits of Sports and Recreation.
At the end of a thrilling and exciting pull competition, Tug of War, Kanjool and Benafed won 2-0 against Bigben/ Naoloio and Nankpalrib.
The winners and Runners Up got refreshments and cash prizes.
Zeinab who led the second placed team said they just got information on the event at the last minute, but decided to participate, however they hope to learn the rules get the right outfit and train well to win the next competition.
Meanwhile another event has been fixed for the end of December to see who rules Agbogbloshie.

The Black Stallions of Nigeria Fall to the Eagles of Ghana in the 2025 Rugby Union Heritage Cup
Saturday, November, 2025 (Accra, Ghana) — Ghana’s Senior national men’s rugby union 15s team, the eagles, defeated the black stallions of Nigeria 38-11 to register their first win in the maiden Rugby Union Heritage cup at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium in Accra.
This match marked a significant milestone for Ghana rugby, especially considering Nigeria’s prolonged absence from competitive rugby due to the country’s federation being dissolved on May 4, 2021, and only recently getting a new leader on October 26, 2025.
A Solid Start
The first half produced some wonderful performances from both teams as the Eagles dominated and pinned the Black Stallions for most part of the game. It ended 26-6 against Nigeria.
Second-Half Resolve
Ghana scored 12 points in the second half, while Nigeria scored 6. Despite their defeat, Nigeria’s captain, Obi Wilson, praised the Ghanaian team’s performance and acknowledged the competitive spirit of the match.
The captain Obi Wilson pledged to use this game as a turn around as they seek to bounce back. He stated
“We will go back home and get ourselves prepared for our next games. We believe it’s a friendly, and we didn’t lose, we go back home and get better. We still have more friendlies to play, and our team will get better.”
The Head Coach Collin Osborne was full of optimism after the match. He stated
“It’s great to see the game growing in Ghana. I’ve been working with the Ghana Rugby Football Union for seven to eight years now.
I’m very happy for today’s victory. Any nation that has a natural rival is important because it builds the atmosphere and grows the game in both countries.”
Captain Lukman Yaya on his impression of the game stated
“I am very impressed with our performance today. Some of us came to join the other local players in Ghana, and we only had one training session with the coach on Friday. Any African team that wants to play us, we are ready.”
Insuah Rafatu, the President of Ghana Rugby Football Union, expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in the 2025 Rugby Heritage Cup. Here’s what she said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one that made today possible, including you, the media. And of course, to our Nigerian friends, thank you for coming and honouring our invitation. There should be a return match in Nigeria, hopefully next year.”
She further stated: “Team Ghana, the Eagles played their best. It’s sports, and we are happy they won. At the end of the day, it’s all about sports, and we go back united again. The President also announced the Eagles’ upcoming match against Ivory Coast on December 3 at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium.

The Head of State (President’s) Golf Tournament has teed off at the Achimota Golf Club in Accra on Friday November 28, 2025.
Golf like all other sports is a unifier, and the sport has attacted many personalities including top golfers and the Minister of Sports & Recreation, Hon Kofi Adams.
President John Mahama in whose hononour the games is bein held will show up for the finals.
The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament is one of the presitigious golf events, with the Honourable Minister of Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams other players to tee off while H.E. John Mahama as Guest of Honour will grace the tournament.
This event is more than swings and scores; it’s about the building of connections, networking and making the conversations spark opportunity, and the stories of growth strengthen our community.

Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams has described the recent visit of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh to Ghana as very important and significant because it has motivated many young people who are doing sports.
The former director of youth programmes at the Ghana Olympic Committee said sports unites people and the visit would strengthen the already strong relationships between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
He prayed that Tug of War which was once an Olympian sport would return to be part of the modern day Olympic activities.
The two-day visit of Prince Edward was aimed at strengthening the modern partnership between Ghana and the United Kingdom, with a focus on education, climate-smart development, inclusive sports, innovation, and Commonwealth cooperation.
The Duke arrived on Sunday and undertook series of high-level engagements in Accra and Aburi, highlighting shared values between both countries and the UK’s support toward Ghana’s development priorities.
At the Sports Day event, the Duke visited the Tug of War stand and boxing legend Professor Azumah Nelson who was one of the guests presented a boxing gloves to him.
Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, UK urged young sports people to take sports serious, during the UK-Ghana Sports Day at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Sports Day featured sports like rugby, football, tennis, bowling, table tennis, volleyball, draught, golf, chess, e sport, tug of war, and others.

Olla Bode Williams, a retired footballer has commended the Minister of Sports and Recreation for appointing the Maestro Abedi Pele Ayew on the Ministerial board to oversee Ghana's participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA Canada and Mexico.
He congratulated Abedi Pele Ayew who was his team mate and said the Minister Kofi Adams has done very well.
"If our old or retired players would be engaged to share their experiences I don't think we would be having problems with our football. There are so many of us who are ready to support but if we are neglected and rejected we may not say good things about the them, but if the right things are done we shall all support" he expressed.
Olla Bode Williams was one of the deadly and fantastic players to watch in the 1990s. He featured for Accra Hearts of Oak, Accra Great Olympics, Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs, Sekondi Hasaacas and also played in Nigeria. He was a Black Meteors and Black Stars player.
He noted that with a player like Stephen Appiah also in the management committee, they are blessed and that is the reason the Black Stars are now playing better with commitment.
He wished Appiah and Abedi Pele success in their roles connected to Ghana Football.

The 2025 Genser PGA Championship has officially begun at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi, bringing together 75 professional golfers from clubs across Ghana and five other countries within the sub-region and beyond. The four-day tournament, which teed off on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, marks the final and most prestigious event on the PGA Ghana calendar.
This year’s field features 45 regular professionals, 13 lady golfers, and 17 seniors, all competing for a significant prize purse and the bragging rights that come with winning the flagship championship. The competition follows last year’s successful hosting at the Damang Golf Club in the Western Region.
Sponsored by Genser Energy, with additional support from various partner organizations, the championship underscores growing investment in professional golf in Ghana.
Speaking at a brief opening ceremony, PGA President Hans De Beer highlighted the crucial role sponsorship plays in the development of the sport. He expressed the Association’s gratitude to Genser Energy and other supporting firms for their continuous commitment to promoting professional golf. He also encouraged participants to adhere to the tournament’s rules and give their best throughout the competition.
PGA Vice President Alhaji Ahmed Padori extended appreciation to the Royal Golf Club’s leadership and to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for their ongoing support and for granting permission to host the championship at the prestigious venue. He urged golfers to maintain discipline and remain dedicated to improving their performance.
Tournament Director Eric Henaku and several participating golfers, including Emos Koblah, Jessica Tei, and Francis Torgah, also shared their optimism in interviews, expressing confidence in making a strong impact during the Kumasi showdown.

Ghana Athletics has inaugurated its Finance and Budget Committee, headed by Mr. Christopher Amankrah Darko. The committee is responsible for overseeing budget planning, financial management, and accountability across the federation’s activities.
Speaking at the inauguration on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr. Bawah Fuseini, stressed the importance of the committee in supporting the federation’s growth and development.
“Today is one of the cardinal days for Ghana Athletics that we are going to integrate a very special committee that will support the programme and fundraising of Ghana Athletics,” he said. “The responsibility of the committee is to budget for everything Ghana Athletics, make all the programmes, look for funding, manage the funds, do audits, accounts to be submitted to World Athletics every year.”
“Their task is a very serious task and we have gotten a very serious people to work on that,” he added. “Next year we’ll have African championships, we’ll have World Relays in Botswana, we’ll have World Junior Championships in the US, we’ll have Commonwealth Games, we’ll have ECOWAS Championships in Senegal, we’ll have Region Five Nations in Burkina Faso and of course our domestic program five national championships.”
Chairman Mr. Darko stated his appreciation and confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver. “Thank you very much Mr. President and on the behalf of my committee members we want to say that we are most grateful for this opportunity to serve in another capacity in Ghana Athletics,” he said.

The 2025 edition of the Afrobreak Championship international once again cemented Ghana’s position as the home of Africa’s breaking culture - bringing together dancers, creators, and young innovators from across the continent. Organized by Africa Breaking Academy, this year’s three-day celebration (21st–23rd) combined intellectual exchange, capacity building, and top-level dance battles that showcased Africa’s rising global influence in breakdance.
One the first day, a conference and creative Workshops was held.
The festival opened with an engaging Afrobreak Conference, bringing together industry leaders, dance educators, youth advocates, and creative entrepreneurs.
Strengthening collaboration across African dance communities
Accompanying the conference were technical workshops facilitated by top African instructors and international partners. Participants received training in breaking foundations, battle strategy, cultural understanding, event professionalism, DJ skills, and movement creativity—all designed to prepare dancers for the battles ahead and support long-term skill development.
The second day saw the Afrobreak Africa Finals which was the highlight of the festival, the Afrobreak Africa Finals, delivered unforgettable battles filled with power moves, musicality, style, and raw African creativity. With dancers representing multiple countries, the finals reflected the unity and diversity of the African breaking scene.
